PV Fireballs, As I communicated with you before, we have a tournament coming up in less than three weeks, please let me know your availability as early as possible, as we try to meet a dateline, and invite guest players to fill the roster if needed.
Thanks, William (310) 971-3918

November 26, 2007 Team Meeting on Friday?
Hi Fireballs and parents,
I'd like to propose a team meeting this Friday evening to accomplish a couple of things:
1) have the boys and parents get to know each other a bit -- that always helps in the games
2) get the uniform requests with sizes/number etc.
3) collect the team fees ($300)
4) have William/Mark discuss the team with all of us
Will Friday night at 7 p.m. work? I'm thinking Lampost Pizza. We can be flexible here, so please let me know what will or will not work on your end.
Thanks and I look forward to meeting everyone soon. Kathy Standen
November 20, 2007 Re: NEW TIME: PV Fireballs -- Practice-- Sunday 3:00 - 4:30 pm at Silver Spur
PV Fireballs, This will be a pickup game oriented. Parents, If you would like to participate, please bring your shoes. AYSO's insurance covers coaches/refs/players, by stepping on the field, you accept the risk. Cheers and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mark & William
November 17, 2007 REMAINDER: NEW LOCATION--PAPER WORK: PV Fireballs -- Practice: Sunday 3:30 - 5 pm at Silver Spur
November 16, 2007 -- Selection
PV Fireballs, Coach Mark and I are very pleased to announce a second exciting season for the Fireball's Tournament Team. You have been selected to be part of a great team! Congratulations! We are proud of your positive attitude and enthusiasm for soccer. Your passion for soccer was one of important criteria to your selection. Our select season will run from now until the end of May, 2008, as you know this is more than half a year for this group being together. Although we put a high priority on having fun, we will strive to help each player to achieve their full potential as an individual and team player.
Our program emphasizes what we call Three S: Strength, Skill and Strategy.
Strength includes both mental and physical strength.
Skill involves individual soccer skills and team play.
Strategy will incorporate strength and skill in a simulated practice and real games.
As we did last year with much success, the Fireball's plan includes inviting a fee-based professional coach, who has extensive experience in youth soccer.
We will practice once a week this year and move to twice a week in 2008. We also will be selective in the tournaments we participate. Please check attached schedule.
A tournament team is financially independent, the team is responsible for all expenses, we estimate about a fee of $600 to $900 per family. We are still trying to work out some kind of sponsorship to cover partial professional coaching fee at this time. The $900 figure estimates no sponsorship.
Please review attached file, and respond with your acceptance and update in roster worksheet.
We look forward to seeing each of you on field. Regards, Coach Mark & William

Parents & Players, Due to that we are unable to secure a permission from the region in a timely manner to submit team roster, we are unable to attend North Torrance Thanksgiving Tournament, we appreciate your enthusiastic response during initial inquires. Please mark your calendar, our next tournament will be West Torrance Classic Dec. 15/16. We just overcome the last hurdle in this process to form a team, we'll announce the team very soon.
Thank you, Mark & William (310) 971-3918
November 12, 2007 4:38:35 PM Subject: PV Fireballs -- Practice/tryout: Sunday 3:30 - 5 pm at Highridge
Parents/Players, We were challenged with a scrimmage yesterday with top team in BU12, however, our kids stood well against big ones. Well done! Please let me know if you are unable to attend 3:30 - 5:00 Sunday's practice. I'm trying to locate a different field to avoid over-crowded Highrige.
Thanks, William (310) 971-3918

October 23, 2007 PV Fireballs
This email goes to each family separately. I appreciate your patience as we work through some rules and logistics with the Region. I would like to gauge the interest and commitment you have for next year's tournament team (11/07 – 05/08). As you know we will be underdog all year alone by playing in BU12’s tournaments and PV Spring Select. This will put great pressure on kids and families with financial contribution and precious time. Even with these commitments, we’ll try to avoid embarrassment losses throughout the year. This sounds like too pessimistic; I just want to give each of you a reality check before try-outs. I believe with right skill trainings and strategies, we’ll be able to be at the top of any games. I would like you to answer a few questions with your son, your prompt response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, William (310) 971-3918
1 – 10 with 10 is highest
- How is your son’s interest in soccer comparing with other team sports.
- Are you willing to contribute financially (~$1,000).
- How would you handle schedule conflicts: for example: USC/UCLA’s Football game and team’s soccer game: pick our team’s game as 10.
- Kids handle losses.
Survey is confidential. We tentatively schedule this Sunday (10/28) 4 – 5:30 pm at Highridge Park for first meet, confirmation will be followed shortly.

We are delighted to inform you that Mark and I will be coaching the Fireballs Tournament team for this year. After a terrific season last year, we hope to continue with as many of last years players as possible. Mark and I believe continuity is a key to success. However, there is no guarantee of a spot as each player must earn it. The selection process will involve player evaluation during the season and tryouts, we are excited to extend a tryout offer to all of last years players. We will announce a tryout shortly.
Look forward to seeing all of you on the field. Mark & William
