The season will begin on Saturday, February 23, 2008 and will end by the middle of June, 2008.

As many of you already know, the registration fee charged does not cover the costs of operating the League on a per player basis.  The cities from whom we lease fields charge substantial rent.  Combine this with umpire costs, insurance, uniforms and equipment costs and our average cost per player is in the $450/player range.  As Pony League does not conduct fund raisers and does not have Snack Shack facilities to raise additional funds, we have to look to special contributions to help sustain the League financially.

Please try to make an extra donation as it is necessary to meet our needs for field usage & maintenance, uniforms, equipment, trophies and umpires.  Please contact Lee Frantz at 375-8192 for additional information.

Also, we are seeking the return of jerseys from any returning player that did not turn in their regular season jersey, Winter League jerseys or all-stars jerseys at the end of the season last year.  Please bring them to tryouts if at all possible.

We particularly welcome parental support and involvement in the program as this is an organization run by volunteers.  We have been very fortunate to have coaches that have been in the program a number of years.  It is mandatory that we have a manager and coach for each of the teams and request that those interested, please indicate the area of interest on the Application Form.  Score keepers, team mothers and field personnel are essential for each team to function properly during the season.

For those of you that are new to Pony Baseball, we think you will find it very enjoyable.  The dimensions of the Pony fields are a natural step as the young men grow, with the base paths being 80 feet and the distance from pitching rubber to home plate at 54 feet.
