Rules and Regulations
CHECK-IN AND
PLAYER REGISTRATION
1.
Team rosters shall consist of a maximum of 18 players for U12 and U14.
U10 rosters shall consist of a maximum of 14. Players cannot be
added to rosters after the first match. An individual may not be on
more than one roster, and play with more than one team. Only 15 players
may be in uniform and play in any one U12 or U14 game. Only 12 players
may be in uniform and play in any one U10 game. No visiting players.
2. All
players must be been registered in AYSO during the Fall 2007 season and
have played in at least half of the regular season games.
3. If
teams have a player(s) from a region different than the team’s primary
region, that player must be listed on a separate eAYSO roster form and
that roster must be signed by the player’s regional commissioner.
4.
AYSO REGISTRATION/MEDICAL RELEASE FORM. Coaches must have in their
possession at all times, a current AYSO Registration/Medical Release
form for each player. Each form must contain an original signature.
Roster forms and medical forms will be checked before each game.
5.
GAME CARD. Teams must provide a properly completed AYSO game line-up
card prior to the game. Each player must be listed numerically. List
only those players in uniform for that game.
6.
Shin guards are mandatory. Casts or splints of any kind will not be
allowed. Jewelry of any kind will not be allowed. No hair beads.
7.
HOME TEAM. The team listed first on the schedule is the HOME TEAM.
HOME TEAMS will sit on the NORTH or WEST side of the fields. The
VISITING TEAM will sit on the SOUTH or EAST side of the field. A team’s
coaches, players, and spectators must sit together on the same
sideline.
8. In
the case of similar uniforms, the HOME TEAM will change. HOME TEAM will
need to supply an alternate color jersey or penny if required to change.
9.
GAME BALL. The HOME TEAM will provide the game ball.
COACHING
10.
Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their teams, coaches,
players, parents and friends.
11.
Coaching is limited to ten yards either side of the center line.
12.
Coaches and all parents shall not enter the field of play unless
requested to do so by the referee.
SUBSTITUTIONS
13. AYSO
substitution rules apply. Each player must play a minimum of one half
of every game in which they are in uniform. One half means two complete
quarters. There is no free substitution. Substitution occurs at
the quarter and half break.
14. The
clock will run during substitution breaks.
FORFEITS AND SUSPENDED GAMES
15. There
will be a ten minute grace period for the start of each game. A 1-0
forfeit will result against a team not at the field within the grace
period.
16. No
game shall start or continue if either team has (a) for U10, less than
five players and (b) for U12 and U14, less than seven players. A 1-0
forfeit will result against the team without sufficient players.
17. If
the referee suspends a game because of the conduct of players, coaches,
or spectators, the outcome of the game will be decided by the Tournament
Committee. The offending player, coach, or spectator will be
barred from attending the next game (and the resumption of the suspended
game, if applicable). The offending team(s) will lose two
points in the standings.
CAUTIONS AND EJECTIONS
18. Any
player, coach, or spectator ejected from the game must immediately leave
the field of play and leave the playing facility. If a player is
ejected, the team will play short the remainder of the game. The
ejected individual is suspended for the next game and cannot attend it.
The team will lose two points in team standings for any
player, coach, or spectator ejected.
OFFICIATING
19. Each
team will provide a qualified/badged three person referee team.
20.
Failure to supply a referee team as scheduled will result in the loss of
the referee deposit.
21.
Failure to provide at least 72 hours notice that a referee team will not
cover a scheduled assignment will result in forfeiture of a portion of
the referee deposit. The amount of the forfeiture will be determined by
the Tournament Committee.
LEAGUE STRUCTURE
22.
DURATION OF GAMES AS FOLLOWS:
U10: two 25 minute halves
U12: two 30 minute halves
U14: two 35 minute halves
23.
POINTS WILL BE AWARDED AS FOLLOWS:
Win: 3 points
Tie: 1 point
Loss: 0 points
Ejection: -2 points (ejection of player, coach, or spectator)
Suspension: -2 points (due to a team problem)
Forfeit: 3 points
24. IN
THE EVENT OF A TIE, AT THE END OF THE SEASON

Goal differential, calculated to a max of three per game

Kicks from the mark
If Gold and Silver pools are formed, the tie breakers will be based on
play during that portion of the league.
25.
TIES. Regular season games can end in a tie. In playoff games, these
will be decided by two overtime periods, if the game is tied at the end
of regulation play. If the game remains tied at the end of the two
overtime periods, kicks from the mark shall be utilized to determine the
winner.
26.
POOLS. Following the completion of a defined number of games, each
division likely will be split into two pools: a Gold pool and a Silver
pool. The Gold pool will consist of the top ranking teams; the Silver
will consist of the other teams. If pools are not created for a
particular division, play-offs may be held at the end of tournament
play.
27.
SCORES. Each week, coaches are responsible for forwarding to the
Tournament Directors by Sunday evening their game scores.
28.
STANDINGS will be updated weekly and posted at
www.ayso10.org.
AWARDS
29.
Medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams in
each pool based on points earned during Gold and Silver pool match
play.
PROTESTS
30. No
protests of referee decisions will be allowed.
FIELD PROCEDURES
31. Teams
playing the FIRST GAME and the LAST GAME will be responsible for field
set-up and take down.
32.
Coaches are responsible for cleaning up their field area prior to
leaving.
33. Dogs,
smoking, and alcoholic beverages are strictly forbidden.
MISCELLANEOUS
34.
RAIN. Soccer is an all weather sport. We will play in the rain unless
in the opinion of the Tournament Director or League Referee Coordinator,
the conditions are a safety risk. If this is the case, games will be
canceled and may be replayed at a later date.
35. All
games will be played under AYSO national rules and regulations.
36. The
Tournament Committee reserves the sole right to make final decisions
regarding any issues that may arise pertaining to the league and are not
specifically covered by these league rules and regulations or other AYSO
policy.
37.
RESCHEDULED GAMES. Teams may request that up to two of its games be
rescheduled. REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME A TEAM SUBMITS ITS
APPLICATION. The requesting coach is required to accept the
re-scheduled dates offered by the Tournament Directors. If a requesting
coach does not accept the offered dates, the games will be forfeited.
Re-scheduled games must be officiated by an independent referee
team. For those divisions featuring Gold and Silver pools, games
scheduled to be played in the initial round of games must be played
before the Gold and Silver pools are formed. For those divisions
featuring play-offs, if any, re-scheduled games must be played before
the playoffs commence.
No games: February 16-17 (President’s Day weekend)
No games: March 22-23 (Easter weekend)
No games: April 12-13 (Area 1F Founders Cup tournament)
