Hi, my name is Scott "Oz" Osborn. I own and operate
Osborn's
Automotive on Pacific coast Highway and Avenue "B" in South Redondo Beach. I've been serving the South Bay
since the mid 80's, and have built the business on repeat
customers and referrals. I have the best customers in the area!
I live in Rancho Palos Verdes with my wife, Nancy.
You've probably seen her at any number of school functions volunteering
her time and expertise with the kids. We have two daughters,
Lindsay(24) & Melissa(21). Both have played in AYSO Soccer.
Melissa went on to play Girls Softball, Club Soccer
with "Quest" and then on to volleyball at Peninsula High &
CSUSM where she's working on her teaching credential. Lindsay developed her Equestrian skills
and rode for the Peninsula High team. She's now studying
Occupational Therapy at USC and plans on going all the way to a
Doctorate.
This website got it's roots back in 1995 when I
started listing the scores of my daughters soccer teams on my website at
work (www.osbornauto.com).
I decided that local sports needed a place to post information and,
therefore, I created a new website, www.pvsports.com.
In the first year, the site averaged 10,000 hits per month. I
sold banner ads to help offset
the costs of running the site, but found that pursuit took away from the time I
needed to spend updating the site. I discontinued the
ads after about 6 months. I have had some help each year from
parents who wanted to lend a hand. Usually a father helped by emailing a
Microsoft Word document, or an Excel spreadsheet that I could easily
transform into a web page. I have even taught some parents to make changes to
the web pages direct from their desks. I sincerely thank all of you
for making my job easier!
As it turns out, I have designed quite a few
websites, ranging from small team webs, to soccer
clubs, churches
and large associations.
I have also designed websites for organizations who do business management training and seminars all
over the world as well as local shopping centers. Many of the websites
use "Active Server
Pages," which allow the use of databases & live changes to the
data and web pages through the use of forms.
